b&e partner Jason Ehrenberg will be speaking at the American Bar Association's 35th annual Midwinter Symposium of the American Bar Association's Tort, Trial, and Insurance Practice Section. The symposium will be addressing emerging issues and litigation relating to life, health, and disability insurance, insurance regulation, employee benefits and reinsurance. Americans With Disabilities Act Amendments to Take Effect In January (PDF)

On September 25, 2008, President Bush signed into law the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act of 2008 ("ADAAA"). The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives had recently approved this legislation to amend the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA"), a federal statute that prohibits workplace discrimination based on disability. The ADAAA, which will take effect on January 1, 2009, marks a substantial expansion in the scope of federal disability law.
